Job Description
Job Title: Shop Helper
Location: Baker, LA
Pay: $15 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start time
About the Company
Our client is a well-established supplier of construction and fabrication materials. Their Baker facility includes an active warehouse and fabrication shop serving industrial and construction customers.
Job Description
This is a hands-on shop position assisting with the preparation and fabrication of heavy cable and related materials. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable performing physical work, and able to follow instructions carefully.
Responsibilities
- Pull and prepare materials for shop orders
- Move and position heavy cable throughout the shop
- Measure, cut, and assemble cable products
- Use shop equipment to crimp hooks and other attachments onto cables
- Assist with testing cable tension and completed assemblies
- Operate a forklift to move and load materials
- Comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift
- Able to lift, pull, and position heavy materials
- Steel-toe boots required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Mechanically inclined and willing to learn
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Able to work safely and accurately as part of a team
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and production instructions

Additional Information
This is "temp-to-hire" position. The goal of the candidate should be to hired-on with customer after the 60 day temp probationary period
